The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara facelift has been spotted testing, hinting at design tweaks, updated interiors, and a 2025 debut. Discover all the changes and expected features here.
A heavily camouflaged Maruti Suzuki vehicle, speculated to be the facelifted Grand Vitara, has been spotted undergoing road testing. The test mule’s overall proportions and size strongly hint at it being an updated version of Maruti’s premium mid-size SUV. With the current Grand Vitara having been on sale since its launch in September 2022, the timeline aligns perfectly for a mid-life update, following industry-standard product cycles
Although heavily disguised, the test mule reveals certain changes that provide a sneak peek into the facelift’s design language. The front fascia seems to have undergone minor yet impactful revisions, retaining the signature split-LED headlight arrangement. The LED daytime running lights (DRLs) sit atop the headlights, which remain integrated into the lower bumper. Observers note a similarity to the Suzuki E-Vitara, the electric version unveiled in November 2024.

A new alloy wheel design adds a fresh touch to the side profile, while the rear design hints at connected taillamps, an increasingly popular trend in modern SUVs. The brake lights remain positioned at the outer edges but seem to adopt a sleeker, more contemporary styling.
Though the spy shots don’t offer a full view of the cabin, a closer inspection suggests noteworthy updates on the inside. The dashboard houses a new free-standing infotainment system that appears larger than the current model’s unit, promising improved usability and features. Beneath the infotainment screen, redesigned split air-conditioning vents and manual controls for various functions have been spotted, hinting at a thoughtful interior revamp aimed at enhanced ergonomics and aesthetics.
Despite the external and internal updates, the facelifted Grand Vitara is expected to retain the engine lineup from the current model. The outgoing Grand Vitara is available with a 1.5-liter K-Series mild-hybrid petrol engine and a 1.5-liter TNGA strong-hybrid petrol unit sourced from Toyota. Both engines have been well-received for their reliability and fuel efficiency, which align with Maruti Suzuki’s brand identity.
The refreshed Grand Vitara is poised to compete head-to-head with some of the most popular models in the mid-size SUV segment, including the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG Astor, and its rebadged sibling, the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. With this facelift, Maruti Suzuki is likely to enhance its value proposition by integrating updated design elements and contemporary features to stay competitive in this hotly contested category.
The facelifted Grand Vitara is anticipated to make its official debut sometime in 2025, with a market launch soon after. This timeline will allow Maruti Suzuki to capitalize on rising consumer interest during the festive season and bolster its standing in the SUV segment, a segment that remains one of the fastest-growing in the Indian automotive market.
While official specifications and details are yet to be revealed, here’s a summary of what the facelifted Grand Vitara may bring to the table:
Maruti Suzuki is clearly gearing up to keep the Grand Vitara a strong contender in its segment, ensuring it remains a top choice for Indian buyers in the years ahead.
