Apple, the technology giant, has reportedly hired veteran Ford’s Global Director of Safety Engineering, Desi Ujkashevic to ramp up its EV project as the iPhone manufacturer plans to launch its electric vehicle by the year 2024. Multiple reports strongly suggest that Ujkashevic will help Apple to manufacture fully electric autonomous cars. As far as we know, Ujkashevic has a vast experience of 31 years and in varying fields of automobile one of which recently has been the EV segment.

She has already been a part of successful projects on a range of Ford and Lincoln SUVs, as well as Ford Fiesta and Focus compact cars. Apple can be benefitted from her vast experience as Ujkashevic can help Apple to run through the regulatory hurdles the company might face in testing self-driving prototypes on public roads. A report mentioned, “Her expertise in engineering and safety protocols can really help guide Apple in this project”.

The iPhone making technology giant has partnered with a South Korean company in order to develop autopilot chip for the car. According to sources Apple has partnered with an outsourced semiconductor assembly and test company from South Korea to develop the autopilot technology for its upcoming EV.

On similar lines to that of Tesla, Apple is also going through the same route as Elon Musk's Tesla also partnered with Samsung’s memory while developing its autopilot chip and later on gave assembly works to Jcet Stats Chip Pac Korea company.
